How many installations are allowed with an AnyDVD key purchase? I have 3 PC's I'd like to have the program on but don't know if the program checks keys against a database for previous installations.
Is using the same key on all your own PC's allowable?

I have it installed on both my home computer and laptop. Although I know it will install on more computers, I tell my friends they have to buy their own copy. We need to keep this company going : )

Hi :)
Hey folks it's my understanding that if you have 1 licence then 1 PC(or Laptop).
It's your licence & only one Pc/Laptop should have this s/w active, at any one time.
So yes you can transfer it from your PC to a Laptop (& vice versa), but not both.

well, not quite right Zeb, you can use the same key on 2 PC's but you cannot use the programs at the same time.

legally it is one license, one install on one computer....

Systems Software - . You may install and use one copy of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on a single computer or if you licensed it for multiple computers on as many computers as you legally obtained a license for

but, like a previous poster stated... slysoft is pretty generous....

Yeah, not looking to spread my key around, just have a laptop that would benefit from the program...they'd never be used at the same time.

Thanks for the info.

Hello,

As long as it's intended for your own personal use we don't mind if you
register the programs on several PCs. Just don't give away the key to other
persons or register programs on other person's PCs.

Have fun with our software.

Best regards

I asked the exact question before I purchased. Their reply:

They are a very generous company. When I placed my order the other day I just got AnyDVD but then immediately realized I should get CloneDVD too since it is only $19 more with the bundle. I emailed them and they let me reorder both and then game me a credit for the first order. I am now a customer for life and now would recommend everyone purchase this software since the price is so reasonable.

Quoted for truth.

I have it on my XP machine at home and on a test partition of Vista that I've had up and running for about a month now. Oh, I also have it at work though I haven't had the opportunity to need it there. Yet.

I feel it appropriate to have it set up on any/all of my computers because I am only going to be using it at one location at any time.

As for sharing it, GET'CHER OWN DAMN COPY!:D

Man, I wished I had known this or thought to ask Slysoft before purchasing 2 licensing keys for AnyDVD -- one for each of my networked (wireless B) PC's.

Now I know.

But supporting this company is good for all of us so I don't mind having spent the extra few $$$.

Must be nice to get such good customer service. I purchaes AnyDVD and Clone DVD back in September 06. I emailed them about any discounts and they said no. I purchased and 2 weeks later I see a coupon for $5 off each program. I send 2 different emails and not even a reply.

I brush that off and decide I would like CD and MOBILE. I email and ask if I can get the discount like I was purchasing all 4 and guess what? No reply again.

Sorry for the rant
I saw your good fortune with customer service and it rekindled very ill feelings.

I have AnyDVD installed on 4 PC's and one Laptop. Slysoft, being a company that seems to genuinely care about their customers, allows me to use it on as many PC's as I own.
I will NOT buy any software that restricts my personal usage of a software or does not furnish me the activation for that software.

They allow you? Or they don't have a choice because that's what you did?

Not many, usually you have to purchase an additional license.

Read it!
This EULA grants you the following rights:
Systems Software - . You may install and use one copy of the SOFTWARE PRODUCT on a single computer or if you licensed it for multiple computers on as many computers as you legally obtained a license for, including a workstation, terminal or other digital electronic device ('COMPUTER').

One PC - one license - it is quite obvious. If Slysoft really permits to use one licence on multiple computers that belong to one owner – please write it in THE LICENSE because forum talking’s or e-mails mean nothing to software piracy police in my country…

I would like to have an answer from Slysoft workers, please.

Might I suggest you email them directly? I am not too sure as to if the mods from this forum can answer you directly or not. Do they work for slysoft? or are they just us with mod status?

I guess I am saying, what is the difference if they chime in here to confirm or deny anything, compared to the email that I shared I personally received regarding this topic?

Your request to have that changed in the "official rules" is highly unlikely... That is opening them up for people to simply pass around their software. << that is why it is not likely.

Anywho. I got the answer I need to feel safe. and I now have the program installed on 4 computers. 3 at my house and one on my work machine (laptop)

Which product's license are you quoting? I assume AnyDVD.

You are allowed to use one licence on multiple computers that belong to one owner, but not at the *same time*.

Example:
You have a gaming PC, a HTPC and a Laptop. You only need one license, because if you watch a DVD on the HTPC, you don't use the other machines.
If you travel with your Laptop the two machines at home are off.

If you have a wife watching DVDs at the HTPC while you travel with the laptop, you should consider buying an additional license for the HTPC.

What country is this? As far as I know copyright violations will only prosecuted on the application of the copyright holder, so you shouldn't worry.

Poland

In my country piracy is a crime. Pirates have two trials. The first one is started by the law – public prosecutor. The other one – by the copyright holder (after the first one is finished and pirate is guilty). Of course the second one is not obligatory for copyright holder – it is only about money for him as a recompense.

Hmz, Im wondering.. is it "piracy" to have one program installed on 2 computers?

I do not think so... That might be a "breach of agreement" that you made with SlySoft. But not piracy....

Software piracy is the illegal reproduction and distribution of software applications, whether for business or personal use.
That is the definition of "Software Piracy" found on a microsoft website. So if that is the case... Does your "public prosecutor" have any legal stance against you for breaking the agreement you made with another company?

All this said.... So I can simply circle back to, SlySoft has told me personally that as long as I am not sharing my Key with others (piracy) They are fine with me installing on more than one computer....

Does that make sense? or is it just late here and I can only understand my thoughts... no one else can!?

HAHA good day!
