Unnh . . . I avoid both, really. Some people have had no problems with the Moser Baer (MII) Verbatims (in fact, at one point, I think the Digital Dolphin ranked MIIs higher than the Prodisc made Verbatims made in Taiwan. I have no idea if he still feels that same way, but I have never been fond of Moser Baer made Verbatim blank media). Moser Baer made Verbatim blank media is still better than Memorex, on average, but so is Sony. I dunno. Coin toss? If you're getting good results with Sony, then stick with what you're use to. When things go downhill, then switch.

I hate to say this, but I'm almost entirely going over to Taiyo Yuden (not Valueline and not TruBlu). If you're in the U.S. visit http://www.supermediastore.com/campaign-page.html

The TYs are not cheap, but pretty reliable lately in my opinion. I tried prying a few apart just to test bonding recently, and I couldn't.

If you actually go in the store you should be able to pick up some Taiwan Verbatim's. They appear to almost always get a mixture of both in stock.

So far, the 16X Verbatim I have gotted from Newegg have been MIT. I have some coming today so I'll see if they are still MIT.

Likewise. Most of the Verbatim 16x discs I got from Amazon were MIT, as well. At one point it was cheaper for me to get them through Amazon with free shipping. I stopped because they don't box them safely enough and I ended up receiving damaged discs. NewEgg is far better in the boxing department.

I did go... all they had were India. I got a 50 spool. I've had good luck in general with the Verbatims and yes even the Sony. Other than that I've had not so good luck, the Circuit City house brand NX being the worst of the worst.
