View Full Version : Problem ripping Dirty Dozen BR US/Reg.1

I am using the lastest version of AnyDVDHD. I even upgraded to the latest 6.4.5.3 beta. That didn't help.

I don't know what packet writing software is, but I don't think I have any my system.

Disc is Dirty Dozen Blu-ray. US/Region 1. No idea when it was released.

I put the disc in the drive. AnyDVDHD chews on it for a few minutes. The little fox in the WINXP system tray stays opaque. Then the pop-up message goes away and when I click AnyDVDHD for the drive letter it says:
No Disc is present in Drive E:!
HL-DT-ST BDDVDRW GGC-H20L 1.02 411227071E79SI0520

I have attached the zipped log file

Thanks in advance for your help.

 If Anydvd is able to produce a log .zip file, then Anydvd, obviously, is able to see the disc. What happens when you try to rip, and what program are you using to rip?

I use AnyDVDHD to rip. I was able to start a rip three times. The first two times it aborted after 57 percent and the third time after 58%. The error message says it can't see the disc.

Am I missing something?

Okay, I find this pretty confusing. If Anydvd starts to rip, then it can clearly see the disc. Anydvd has to see the disc before it can begin to rip.

When Anydvd ripper aborts are you sure the error message is that it can't see the disc? Or are you just looking at the Anydvd status screen window?

Can you possibly give me a screenshot of the error message please?

I had also seen the suggestion on this board to try exit AnyDVDHD and use ImgBurn in Read Mode. When I do, it says:

This disc is copy protected!
Copyright protection system type: AACS
Sorry, ImgBurn cannot read copy protected discs.
If you go ahead and try to create an image anyway, don't blame me if it fails!

Yes, I will send a screen shot - It will take a bit because it will have to get to 57% again. Stand by.

Use Imgburn 2.4.1.0

click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=14989

By the way, if imgburn also chokes while trying to read that disc with Anydvd disabled, then there's a good chance your original disc is bad even if it plays fine.

OK - I am using ImgBurn v2.4.1.0 - It said to exit AnyDVDHD, so I did that. It was chugging along until it hit 61% - It did a lot of gyrations but in the end the error it threw up was I/O Error - I am attaching a print screen.

The disc itself is immaculate - I have looked it over with a magnifying glass.

Here's a copy and paste of the ImgBurn v2.4.1.0 log:

Meaningless

Simply because a disc looks and plays fine doesn't mean it is fine.

You have a bad original disc even if it plays fine or a slowly dying drive.

These are your options in order of likelihood:

A. The original disc is bad even if it plays fine. Exchange it.

B. The disc is dirty. Clean it.

C. Your drive is slowly dying. Try a different drive.

D. The cable on the back of your drive is bad. Exchange it.

I'll be damned. I should have looked closer before I wasted your time. The disc is cracked! I will exchange it. Thank you very much for your help.

I'm glad you discovered the defect (sometimes none are visible).

Take care

It was only released a few weeks ago, and I had no problems at all backing up.

No one should have problems ripping any Blu-ray (playback is another issue). There's no structural protection . . . yet.
