View Full Version : VCD won't read BD iso

I've read most of the threads relating to VCD and BD iso's. Have updated VCD to the latest beta (5.3.1.2). I have the popular LG BD/HDDVD reader GGC-H20L. I get an error message from VCD that it can't open the ISO file. (Can't mount E:\temp\jumpers.dvd) The iso was ripped with AnyDVD-HD and the movie is Jumpers. I looked at the .dvd file that AnyDVD produced. The mediatype was DVD, and that didn't work. I changed it with notepad to BDR, and that didn't work.

As I've understood the postings on this issue, it should have worked. Is this something peculiar with Jumpers, or maybe my windoze needs a new install (it has been over 6 months since done last).

Anyone got any suggestions about vcd? (Please refrain from the winblows comments, we've all heard them too many times) TIA

Try Virtual CloneDrive 5.4.1.0 beta: http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupVirtualCloneDrive5410.exe.

It's posted here: http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=19811.

When ripping BDs and HD-DVDs with the AnyDVD ripper use Rip to Image... and mount that in the VCD. There shouldn't be an issue with the media type being DVD [as it should have been when the file was created] in the .DVD file and mounting the image.

I thought I had the required beta! I downloaded from the link you provided, et voila!

Add to that, the skipping is completely gone and playback is as smooth as HDDVD. Now that this problem is resolved, on to shrinking the movie.

Thanks again.

Glad to help. :)

I'm really not sure what was going on but the last official release is 5.4.0.6 meaning you were a bit behind by using 5.3.1.2 which explains a lot!

Official releases are posted for download in the Virtual CloneDrive forum on the main Slysoft webpage: http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html.

Beta releases are only posted in the Virtual CloneDrive forum: http://forum.slysoft.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21.
