Well I was excited to watch the Matrix last night after getting the Ultimate Matrix Collection on BD but no luck. Popped in the Matrix and both PowerDVD 8 and 7.3 just disappeared when it hit the menu. Tried it on two PCs one running Vista 32bit and the other Vista 64bit both with XFi sound cards (1 platinum other gamer) and running the latest drivers. One system has a 8600GTS the other 8800GTS both with the latest drivers. One system uses the LG GGC the other the GGW.

PDVD 7.3 was at the latest patch but 8 was not so I patched it. Then 8 would play the movie but it had no audio. Show info says it is Dolby Digital but no bit rate and I cycled through all the audio streams. If I set it to Dolby True-HD show info does not list anything under audio.

I used tsMuxeR_1.8.4(b) to make a movie only BD structure backup with just the movie and the True-HD streams and it plays fine with PDVD 8 (did not check 7.3).

Anyway just venting a little, I am going to try the other movies in the collection and see what happens.

FYI tsMuxeR 1.8.8(b) is out: http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.php?p=134136&postcount=1.

There is, apparently, a True-HD issue with tsMuxeR that has existed for awhile. I don't honestly fully understand it because it doesn't impact me and I don't use tsMuxeR that much.

Refer to the tsMuxeR thread on the doom9.org (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=134104) forums: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=134104. tsMuxeR 1.8.8.(b) discussion starts on page 103 and the True-HD issues were still not fixed.

You could try using eac3to instead, I suppose.

Sorry, I can't really help you with your problem but I can at least share a little information.

Thanks DLAD but the version I made in tsMuxer is the only one that works :) I did grab the newer tsMuxer though as I had lost the link and did not feel like searching for it ;)

I tried all three main features now and non of them have any audio no matter what audio stream I select. That is playing from the disk, remuxed versions work fine. This happens with AnyDVD on or off by the way. The Animatrix works fine with standard Dolby and True-HD.

They play fine in my PS3 so it must be a PDVD thing, isn't that surprising!

My copy of The Matrix works fine in 7.3 4407, but not in 8, Also works fine from a mounted ISO

Strange, I have to make a movie only backup to be able to get any sound an ISO of the disk acts the same as the disk itself.

Well mine works fine, menu opens fine during the film and has no problem switching between audio tracks
