Lifetime updates

Here's a question:

Are the lifetime updates only for one Version?

For example, I was screwed when I thought my photoshop 5 purchase would let me keep updating to the newer versions.

I could only update for free within the version 5 series (eg. 5.1, 5.5)

So.....If I buy anydvd version x.x, will I still get a free update for y.x???

No, but keep in mind Anydvd and Anydvd HD are separate products.

Buying Anydvd does not entitle you to free lifetime updates for Anydvd HD.

Well if you by anydvd there is a lifetime of updates, but as webslinger stated anydvd doesn't entitle you to a free update of anydvd hd which has HD support for HD discs. But you can keep getting updates for free, the HD part is an upgrade. Hope this helps you understand.
