Hi-
I have not had luck trying to find an answer to this question, so I hope it does not offend to ask it.

I have AnyDVD and CloneDVD. I have a blu-ray drive (player not burner) on the way. If I upgrade to Anydvd HD, I understand I will be able to rip a blu-ray. Will I be able to use CloneDVD to then backup the movie to a regular DVD? I have been reluctant to invest in many blu-ray disks because I only have one player, but I would like to be able to watch the movie on other televisions (eg the kids room or the car). So, I am hoping to be able to copy blu-ray to dvd in order to do so. Then, I will start buying more blu-ray movies.

Thanks.

Clonedvd does not currently support Blu-rays.

I have had great results using anydvdhd to rip, tsremux(freeware) to strip, and nero vision to re encode and shrink. the process is fairly easy.

with anydvdhd enabled, tsremux can read right from the disc in a fraction of the time it takes to do a full rip.

i only do movie only BD to DVD backups. to actually keep all the menus and extras, the process beomes more lengnthy. and i dont have the patience for this any more, especially since there will be a cloneBD some day.

the only drawback i have is that if i add chapter points, the audio sync is off.
so i just use the fast forward if needed.

At present CloneDVD nor any other Slysoft or Elaborate Bytes product will help with editing/re-authoring HD/BD. Something is in the works, however.

Since this thread was originally posted in the CloneDVD forum and is headed away from CloneDVD then I'm moving it. Discussion about other programs to be used is better served in the High Definition Software forum.
