I tried to convert Spiderwick twice using Anydvd and Ripbot. The audio was out of sync by at least several seconds. I finally decided to try to play the M2TS files to see if this was a Ripbot problem or a problem with the original files. Powerdvd wouldn't play the English track at all from files. The audio was out of sync when played with Media Player Home Cinema. When I used Powerdvd to play the BD the movie ran fine. I thought I'd try the same thing with Kingdom of the Crystal Skull and I'm having the same problem. I'm using the latest version of Anydvd. Is Anydvd not stripping all of the copy protection?

Has anyone else ran into this problem?

I've been trying to overcome this problem for 2 days now. I'd appreciate some help with this one. It has me baffled.

Thanks!

Rob

A little update.

I found a post about True-HD not being recognized and played by software such as Powerdvd. I used Tsmuxer to convert the audio to AC3. MPC Home Cinema still seemed to play the audio at a different rate from the video and the video would freeze at times when I tried to skip forward or backwards. However, Powerdvd seemed to work perfectly. Is AC3 capable of 7.1 surround? It looks like 6 channel is the best it can do. My MB and Onkyo receiver are HDMI 1.3 compliant. I'd like to be able to play 7.1 surround.

After getting more info on this audio issue I just need to practice at encoding the audio to shrink the file size and package the movie in a MKV file and I'm set.
