View Full Version : How do I stop MCE 2005 changing the refresh rate?

Anyone had any joy stopping MCE 2005 changing the refresh rate? Got Windows/MCE running at 50Hz (am in UK so PAL) and have reclock configured to alter the refresh rate via a script when I start a 23.976fps video. This works fine but MCE then immediate tries to change the refresh rate back to 50Hz and ends up in an endless loop with the reclock script which I can't get out of.

I just want MCE to stop tring to be a smart-ass and leave the refresh rate alone. Have tried the EnableRefreshRateChange registry entry but to no avail.

Please help, I'm so close with this but MCE has shafted me at the final hurdle :(

Change the value in...
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\Curr entVersion\Media Center\Settings\DisplayService\EnableRefreshRateCh ange

After dabbling with MediaPortal I've decided that's not going to work for me so I'm back with MCE 2005.

Has anyone managed to get ReClock to work with MCE 2005 such that it changes the refresh rate correctly via the RunEvents script and doesn't screw up live TV viewing?

Sorry, worked for me here (It did require a reboot if memory serves me to make it take effect).

All the information you need to get ReClock working with videos in MCE but leaving live TV alone is in this forum. In a nut shell, you need to increase the merit of the ReClock filter.
