View Full Version : Apple TV audio sync issue

Hello All,

I've looked through the forums but can't seem to find the answer to my particular issue - which I find suprising as a number of people are presumably creating Apple TV ready copies of their DVDs using CloneDVD mobile.

I'm currently evaluating Clone DVD Mobile and considering whether I should pruchase or not.

I've converted a number of my DVDs using AnyDVD and Clone DVD mobile (v1.2.0.1) into .mp4 format using the Apple TV H264 AVC profile and the following options:

Res: 720x408
Bitrate: 1649 kbps
Deinterlace: checked
2-pass endcoding: checked

The resulting file plays in iTunes and also after syncing with Apple TV (i.e from the ATV internal harddrive) and via streaming across wireless or ethernet.

However, both in iTunes and on ATV (playing onto Samsung LCD 37" TV) the audio is noticeably out of sync.

The amount of asynchronicity varies from file to file, but I would estimate is 10s of ms (i.e slight but enough to be incredibly irritating). By my estimation the asynchonicity appears worse on the TV compared to the PC.

Has anyone else had this issue? Did you manage to resolve it? If so, how?!

Any help would be much appreciated.

Iain
