Just updated to the newest version of pdvd 7 Ultra. Now it won't play back mounted iso images. It returns an error message of "Unsupported disc in drive E." and doesn't play. Other forums report the same, but the work around recommendation of changing the text in the file .dvd to media=BDR didn't make any difference.
I tried both actual BD and HD DVD discs, and the newest Pdvd7 played both perfectly with 6 channel analog output, but no iso playback worked.
Any fix for this yet ?
Also note, please update your PDVD7 to the newest version if you want to experience this yourself, its only with the newest version, the one that converts the LG bundled version to a full retail install...

The mediatype in the .DVD file only applies if you are using Virtual CloneDrive and the newest beta no longer requires the .DVD file to be used in terms of setting the mediatype for the mounted image.
The problem may be specific to your version of this latest PowerDVD7 update because I had no such problems when updating my retail PowerDVD7 Ultra install to build 4617.
Edit: You meant you changed the text to read "MediaType=BDR" for your BD images, right?

Yes, that is correct, and from the info page of my recently updated PDVD7 Ultra, it is version 7.3.4617.0 to be exact...
I updated Virtual Clone Drive and it fixed the problem... I think others are having a similar problem and from what I'm reading, the update to Virtual Clone Drive is not common knowledge, yet...
Thanks for the quick help.

So should I update Virtual Clone Drive ? Is that the answer ? Or update AnyDVD HD to the beta ?
I'd recommend updating both. I can't say for sure if that will fix your problem since I don't have an OEM install of PowerDVD7 but it definitely can't hurt to update AnyDVD HD and Virtual CloneDrive.

The Virtual CloneDrive update was just released yesterday so it may take a few days for more people to see.
I'm glad you got things working. :)
