Set top players that will not play back ups

Hello folks, been researching this mess way to long. As it sets right now I have not had any luck in getting a back up Blu ray to play on my Panasonic DMP-Bd 55. It will work on my buds PS3. Just doing my best to help others here. I have heard that the new set tops will not play the back ups , I have seen it first hand. Must be the firmware. So this is a start to the "will not play back up list"

I cant get my Samsung BD-1400 to play my BD backups...

I have used the guides but it does not work. Works fine in PowerDvd on my pc though...
