View Full Version : What is the best way to convert Blu-Ray to WMA or MPG?

I read "A Layman's Guide to Shrinking Bluray Size on Hard Drive" but I really didn't see what step within it converts the Blu-Ray files to a new single file.

I want to create a single 1920X1080 file, in MPG or WMA.

For my purposes I really don't care if it is 5.1 audio or not. I just want to stream a high quality version through an xbox 360.

Is there any simple way to do this?

All the best,

Joe

the step where you put it through TSremux is where it will create a single file, but it will be in whatever the original codec of the film is in, you'd then have to take that m2ts file and run it through something else to get mpg or wmv, but if you want it in Mpeg then you'd have to up the bitrate (unless it was already in Mpeg) to keep the quality so your film would be larger than the original, and to convert it to WMV it would probably take a day or so even on a fast machine
