Yes, it can be done and many have.

Check out the following link:

Frequently Asked Questions concerning HD-DVDs and Blu-rays (http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=20702): http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=20702

321 DVDXCopy won't help you at all with HD-DVD or BluRay discs. Only the Ultimate version of DVDNextCopy will work with BluRay discs. DVDNextCopy Ultimate only seems to convert SD DVDs to BluRay. I don't see any mention of ripping BluRay discs and even if you did you'd need AnyDVD HD to remove the protections.

Feel free to peruse the High Definition Software forum and the AnyDVD HD forum. Both have a lot of discussions on this. AnyDVD HD does its part with removing the protections. Your issues seem to be in burning the result which makes it not an AnyDVD HD issue.

If no compression is necessary then you can simply rip the BluRay disc as an ISO using AnyDVD HD via the Rip to Image... function and then burn the ISO to a BluRay disc using ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com/) (freeware). If you have the BD-25 (single layer & ~25 GB) discs then you can only fit ~25 GB on them. BluRay discs are single layer and others are dual layer. The BD-50 (dual layer & ~50 GB) discs are more expensive than just buying another copy of the movie in most cases. If you have one and the original disc is more than ~25 GB then you can just burn that using ImgBurn but I don't know many people who want to purchase and burn using BD-50 blanks.

There are methods for shrinking a movie to fit on a BD-25 disc and they are discussed in both the forums I mentioned. They involved a number of steps and aren't nearly as user-friendly as when it comes to copying standard DVDs.
