View Full Version : ReClock and MediaPortal RC3

Using ReClock (to speedup HD movies to 25fps) with the internal videoplayer of MediaPortal RC3 all videos start with heavy stuttering. The framerate alternates between 24.5 and 25.5 fps and jitter is more than 2500.
If I skip some seconds of the video everything is ok, no stuttering anymore, the framerate is around 25 fps and jitter is 0.
I run Vista x64 and use EVR as video renderer. The graphics card is an ATI HD 2600 Pro running with the latest catalyst driver (v8.11).
Is this a bug in ReClock? The Problem startet some ReClock versions ago. Don't know anymore which version it was.

I've solved the problem, by using VMR9 instead of EVR.

It's normal. I use MP . I suggest:
1) with Ati card , Vista , Evr and Aero on do not use secondary monitor but primary one. check this out. MP have a good option to send renderer on an secondary monitor but Ati work very well with Aero and primary monitor not the secondary. (it's and Aero related)
2) use reclock vsynch correction. it work perfect . the stuttering it's related
to vsynch. sometimes MP start correcty sometimes not so you got stuttering.
active the vsynch and use the cltr+ALT+F key F11 and F12 to move the vsynch target position with F9 display the vysnch signal and search for the best position to avoid stuttering (by best position is at the almost bottom of the screen). on next play in few seconds reclock correct the vysnch .
sorry but in MP how do you got the frame rate information and the jitter information?

I've to look in the configuration of my remote control when I'm back home. I don't know the keyboard shortcut anymore.

It's only one display connected to my HTPC. I already tried to force reclock to the primary display but without success.

Ok, I'll give that a try. I already activated vsync correction, but didn't move the vsync target position up or down.

Shift + ! ... I tried to search in MP forum ... cool :D
for the evr vsynch (I've Vista 32 bit) I've the last Reclock because it work since 1.8.1.0 I guess..
with ctrl+shift+F11-F12 you can change the target position (try put it to the botton).
with Ctrll+shift+F9 you can display the vsynch cursor . Reclock move it into the target vysnch position. with MP the vysnch cursor start random often in the wrong place and you got stuttering but after few seconds reclock correct it and put it into target position.
It work trust me... :agree:

IT WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks a lot red5goahead!
Now I can use the internal videplayer of MediaPortal again and don't have to use an external player like zp.

Cool ! :clap::clap:
An ultimate reclock features could be an automatic vsynch setup. Reclock should get the renderer stuttering and move the vsynch target position during a inital learning procedure. When stuttering stop that setting could be used forever. I think it's possibile because in MP with Shift+! the jitter value is high during reclock vsynch correction... and become near zero when reclock reach the correct vsynch position.
