hey guys,
First post on the forum after reading alot of threads but without finding an answer i thought i better register and ask myself. Basically I have recently built a HTPC (I've listed the specs at the bottom) and have had a few issues with 24p content. Basically I have a number of hd dvds which suffered from some lip sync but nothing major... I use powerdvd 8 for blu rays and powerdvd 7 for hd dvds, both outputting stereo as I only use my tv's built in speakers...now i have gone and bought batman on blu ray and this is a film i cant watch with this lip sync problem... the video plays flawlessly as 24p but the audio seems to sometimes be behind or ahead by maybe 2 or 3 frames but enough for me to notice and now i know it is there i cant ignore it, so...
My question is this, can reclock fix this whilst keeping the video at 24p?

Here are my specs:
Abit 780G
HD3200 Onboard
AMD 4850e
2GB Corsair
cheers in advance

Give it a try. It may work but if the encoding on the disc is bad then it wont fix it.

Remember, if it does not work out just uninstall it.

I have tried it out and it works but only if i do this... basically when everything is auto is flashes green and red, then if i tick " Slave reference clock to audio" it turns yellow and then if i untick it it turns green and seems to be working... weird... anyone know why this is and a way around it as i dont want to have to be changing settings manually as it is for my htpc...

I believe the green / red flashing is just for the start, it is trying to work out an average for the frame rate so that it can get a stable clock to work with.

Yes. And if people would read the manual, they would know this.
