View Full Version : CPU Max / hang when inserting a RW DVD

Hi there, I have a fully recreatable scenario, where, when I insert a DVD +RW into my drive (Liteon SHM 165HS-01C), the CPU maxes out and the box appears to be hung. Responses are so slow that I usually have to press reset.

When I checked the processes in the task mgr. , it's AnyDVD that is eating 100% of the CPU time. If I close AnyDVD before inserting a RW/DVD , the problem does not occur.
My CPU is a Mesh Athlon 2100+ with 1.5G Memory, 280GB HD space.
DVDs are TESCO branded DVD +RW 4x, Liteon is noted on the packet as compatible. Can anyone help ?
Thanks,
AGP
