Using clone mobile i do i create a xvid file from dvd?????

choose the 'Generic (DivX)' option.
(avi=divx=xvid=basically the same format)

If they are the same then why do they say convert to divx,xvid,avi???

it is the same format just a different name.
i asked the very same question in feb 2006 in an e-mail to slysoft and this was the response i got back:

The "DivX" format is in fact an XViD format that can be played by most DivX
compatible players and devices. We chose the more popular term "DivX".

i suppose you could say it just a different 'brand' name for the same format.

After converting a chapter from my kid`s DVD, I try to look at the resulting .avi file in Winamp (and other software players) and all I get is the sound. No pictures.
Can you guys help?

I downloaded the Divx viewr (free) and installed. Then winamp was happy. Windows (or whatever os/sw you are using) does need a codec. Divx viewer works well

Installed the Xvid codec and it now works great. Thanks
