[EDIT: OOPS, I'm sorry, it seems it's the burner LG drive. I'll probably get it myself! Thanks for the tip.]
I don't know, I'll be willing to bet the price of it that theres THIS (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827136133) (GGC-H20L) inside a USB external enclosure. Whether the USB enclosure is worth about 80 bucks, if you even need it (do you?) is I guess up to you. I wouldn't pay for it, but it does come with software and its own power management (turns off with your PC at least).
Incidentally, I just bought this one (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=230316163519) on ebay. It's supposed to have the Sony Optiarc BC-5600S (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827118027) in it, plus the very handy external USB enclosure. (This one is more handy than the Buffalo one because it doesn't require external power, and it's very compact, and presumably can fit any laptop SATA DVD/bluray drive). It's a 2X laptop drive though. I'll probably keep the enclosure and put the drive in my laptop.
Haven't received it yet, but it should be good, the seller seems all right. It sure looks like an excellent deal if everything goes OK.
[Moderators you can probably move this to the hardware section, sorry for the OT]

Actually thanks for replying. I missed the original post but this brought it to my attention. I moved these posts to the High Definition Hardware forum.
I'd go for an LG internal drive that I put in an external enclosure, myself, most likely. I just trust LG for more than other ODD companies these days for the HD/BD drives. They make good SD DVD ODDs, as well, but I really love my Samsung reader. I still always burn with an LG drive, however. :)

I edited the post, just in case. It seems inside the Buffalo enclosure is actually the LG burner, and it's cheaper WITH the enclosure than it is without!
I think I'm buying it, but crappy buy.com is not accepting yet the offers I already subscribed to for my $25 discount. I'm cheap.

From what I can gather, the drive in the Buffalo is probably a GGW-H20L, not a GGC-H20L. That is, it's a blu-ray writer, not just a reader, like the one at the price grabber link.
