I am currenty using spdif(bitstream) with re-clock and there are drop frames for audio although I don't hear the difference.
Now I am wondering if I should choose ac3 re-encode in reclock. Do I need to have ffdshow or AC3filter installed to use this function?
I play my bluray with powerdvd 8 now and nothing else now.
Thanks for any advice. I am really new to this re-clock thing..

No. Just set up PowerDVD for 6 channel output and enable the AC3 encoder.

Thanks James!
It seems that you think Reclock will not be effective if we use SPDIF instead of re-encode. Can you clarify why this is so? I see that audio frames are dropped to sync with the clock/video, so I suppose that reclock is working its magic?

Well, you see that audio frames are dropped (or repeated). I wouldn't call this very "effective". ;)
