Per other forum members, using Vista Home Premium, I have successfully erased and formatted some BD-RE's. I am using an LG 20L burner. After I put the disc in the drive, I wait a couple of seconds to have it read. Then I right click and then right clicked and selected ERASE. When that was done, I closed out, and then re-opened, right clicked and selected FORMAT, selecting UDF 2.50 and quick format. It worked fine. Initially I had a couple of problems, but after taking the disc out and re-starting the process it worked. Sometimes I had to re-do the FORMAT 3 or 4 times until it finally said that the format was complete.
