View Full Version : Audio Problem with Certain DVDs

I've sucessfully encoded many DVD's for iPhone, PSP, and my HTC Juno. I just encountered a DVD where the video encodes just fine but the audio is extremely low volume and slightly garbled.

The DVD is an instructional DVD with poor production quality, but the audio on the orginal plays just fine. CloneDVD Mobile lists the audio stream as "unspecified Dolby AC-3/2". What's strange is that the resulting mp4 sounds fine when played on the desktop through a Quicktime player yet it's quiet and garbled on an iPhone, PSP, and Juno. However, I do need to turn the volume up on the desktop quite a ways. So this just might be the range of the desktop audio.

Perhaps the audio is just too quiet in the resulting encode? Is there a way to dial this up in CloneDVD Mobile? I tried changing MVolume from 10 to 20 in devicesl.ini but it didn't seem to make any difference.

Any ideas what the problem might be? And is there a way to dial up the volume? Thanks!
