have you tried other BD? do they work OK?
the problem as it states in the log is getting the VID for the disk.

Are you using modified firmware for drive? If so try reverting to original.
Also Anydvd 6.5.3.1 is out. Try create log file with that if problem still exist

Peer says the drive seems not to be authenticating itself correctly.
That could very well be firmware related.

One way to test it would be to rip as a protected ISO then mount that and then see if AnyDVD HD can decrypt it. If it can then it means there's probably something iffy with the info the drive is giving out

The firmware for above drive is CP56. It was release on 03/24/2008.
Your drive firmware is 2P53. Just curious if it is wrong firmware for your drive.

That's the message I'd expect to see as the original disc has never been decrypted therefore you have no key for it on your system
