Movie Archive

I want to create a movie archive on a portable media recorder such as Archos Tv or Emtec movie cube. Do I need Clone DVD to create the necessary .avi file on my PC for each movie and then transfer the avi file to the portable device. Cant quite figure out what I need to do to get the DVD on to the portable device. I currrently use CloneDVD Mobile to do this for my Archos MP4. Any help would be appreciated.

No you will want CloneDVD Mobile in conjunction with AnyDVD to do this.

Thanks.....but does that not mean that if I want to play back on a 40 inch LCD that the move quality will have been scaled for a 6 inch screen archos screen ....which is what i would have created the files for using CloneDVD Mobile.

My CloneDVDmobile MP4 files look pretty good on my 42 inch flatscreen.

If you are in region 1, use 720x480 frame resolution for a better picture on the tv. It won't be any better on the portable device, but will stretch to the TV screen size better.
