I am sure I will get redirected for asking this question.

Why can not copy to a DVD+R Dual Layer Verbatim, using AnyDVD and CloneDVD "Movie Only". I have never been able to even though it says it burned successfully. It always pauses or locks up about midway on the movie. I have owned AnyDvd and CloneDvd for a couples of years and never successful made a disc that works. Is this my problem or a CloneDvd problem. I also keep my software up to date. Except the lastest beta version of CloneDvd which loops. I have read the manual which did not help me with the problem, I watch the forum, but the other members problem do not seem the same. I have to use a third party software which does use AnyDvd and is having problem with the new protection. I am stuck.

Redirect me if you must. :)

Except the lastest beta version of CloneDvd

That's the problem. You need to use 2.9.2.5. You also need to burn at 4x, and update your drive's firmware if possible. Also, ensure that you're bitsetting to "dvd-rom".

Also, why are you doing movie only on +R DL? You can fit everything on there.

Okay I will use 2.9.2.5 (Beta) update, I hate that it loops. I burn at 4X already and I update my firmware regularly.

Where do I set the bitsetting? Is that part of CloneDVD or my burner? If it is my burner where do you find it and once it set will it stay set or only use it when burning D/L?

I have a 56" LCD and a 2 hour movie compresses to about 76% and looks bad on the LCD so I use a D/L.

When I use the third party program you check DVD-Rom in the program.

No. Click http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476, and look at step 3.

or my burner? If it is my burner where do you find it

See above. It's more a function of your burner's firmware . . . Your burner's firmware needs to support bitsetting changes.

Yeah, that still doesn't explain why you're not backing up everything as opposed to just the main movie. With +R DL you never have to compress no matter what.

Okay, I changed my burner DVD-ROM so quess it does not automatic detect. You were right it loses the setting everytime you reboot. I have a Samsung SH-S223Q. Is there a change you can recommend a burner that will automatcally go DVD-ROM? I had to use imgburn.

Do I have to change the Bitsetting on the reader burner as well?

I only copy the movie because I hate previews, trailers, special features and menus. :)

MediaCodeSpeedEdit if this is a link it is broken.

I guess the site is down or something

Is this were you find the burner?

No, it's the program you use to edit your burner's firmware, so that it's permanently set to change booktype to "dvd-rom" by default.

The primary characteristic of 2.9.2.5 beta is that it addresses DL layer break issues.

It looks like MediaCodeSpeedEdit doesn't support my burner. I need one that will any suggestions? Or one that is already preset? Or one that detects a D/L and automatically changes it to DVD-ROM?

Would that I mean I would not have set my Bitsetting everytime or do I still need to do that also?

It certainly does support the Samsung SH-S223Q firmware SB00.

Mediacodespeed edit is a tool for editing firmware, which you then have to flash to your drive.

I will have to see you answers in morning, we have to run drug runner down tonight out in the Gulf, we have get underway at 2:00 AM. Nice weather to do it in. I was hoping the CO would call it off. Oh well, the Coast Guard never sleeps. Last time we did this two men got thrown overboard, that was fun finding them in the dark. Man over board would been helpful. :)

You do for your Samsung unless you use MediaCodeSpeedEdit.

I have SH-S223Q SB03 Samsung. I can't even find a Samsung of any type on the list. I must be blind. Plus it wants codes and other things. It keeps sending to CD Freakls, which does work. I must be doing this whole thing wrong.

You download samsung firmware, and you edit it using MediaCodeSpeedEdit.

If you want to use MCSE, then ask for help at the cd freaks forums. I don't have time to be supporting that program in addition to helping with everything else here, sorry.
