I tried the clone dvd program and it works great. It copies exactly the files from a dvd that was made on a dvd -r disc. The content is from a vhs to a dvd -r. I tried copying the disc using different programs and got the same result. The files are on the new dvd -r but the problem is it won't play like a regular dvd. I wasn't the person who put the video onto the dvd -r from the vhs. I just want to copy the dvd -r. It tried to clone the dvd and it did the same thing as image burn. I presume that's what it's supposed to do but, the new dvd -r doesn't work on my computer's dvd player. The auto run prompt doesn't show up when I put the disc in. When I go to the file to click on the dvd it just shows the files on there and there is no option to play. The original dvd starts to play automatically but the new burned dvd -r does not. I've gone through 3 dvd -r discs and I went to buy some dvd +r discs to see if that's the problem. Does anyone know what I could be doing wrong here?

Try this:
If using AnyDVD, disable it. As there is no protection on the disc, you don't need it running.

If CloneDVD2 still wont copy the disc:
Go into CloneDVD2's Preferences, check use File System instead of internal I/O to see if that helps (NB revert back to original setting afterwards).

If the disc still wont copy, use CloneCD - this will make an identical copy of not only CD's but DVD's, too. Make sure the blank disc is the same capacity as the original disc.

This won't work as the dvd structure is way different from VHS structures and you can't just copy and play correctly. The DVD program is expecting to see something different then the VHS format is and that is why it won't play even if you can copy it. You will most likely have to use a program similiar to ConvertXtoDVD to cover it to DVD format to properly play. You can copy from VHS to DVD but unless it just a media avi files that will play on the dvd program it probably won't work. VHS format and DVD format isn't the same unless your just copying the video itself if you expect to play like a DVD you will have to use a the program like I mention or similiar and make it into DVD format to play.
