Who knows? I could be wrong, but adding a hard coating has to increase production costs . . .

Has anyone ever seen or touched a Maxell Broadcast Quality DVD?
Or know the price per unit.
I have been burning with my new "Taiyo Yuden Premium DVD-R 8x Silver Thermal Lacquer" discs for 3 weeks now [burning at 4x]. They play really great. I mean it. They even feel a tad thicker. [probably my imagination....but I feel it....really]
I'm very interested it what this new Taiyo Yuden media will be like.
And very interested in what the heck a Maxell Broadcast Quality disc looks like.

$6.76 for three disks (without shipping) -or- $2.26 per disk. That is for the Maxells.

The reflective layer appears to be yellow/gold, but Maxell's marketing literature doesn't specify this.
