If you lost your license keys don't panic, we'll help you:

If your purchase was after May 11 2005, you can try our Key Recovery Tool at https://secure.slysoft.com/lostkey.php

If your purchase was before this date or your key couldn't be recovered, please contact our Support Team by filling out the form at http://www.slysoft.com/contact.html

We get many requests for "lost" key files even if we try to instill the perception that the key file if equivalent to the little product key sticker on the Windows CD box.

Every license mail contains the advice to back up the key files off the PC to avoid loss after a crash, uninstalling before updating, or whatever. ;)

On top of that, many users purchased their products through Element5 which most of the time procured CloneDVD2 from Elaborate Bytes (which is the originator anyway).

While our system allows eventual linking of a customer to a specific AnyDVD key if we do not get the order or key number, we can not do that that if CloneDVD2 was procured from Elaborate Bytes.

Lately we are running into cases where we refer the customer of such a mixed order back to Elaborate Bytes only to have them come back to us asking for help getting the registration file for CloneDVD2.

The problem is that Elby has to ask element5/DigitalRiver to redeliver the license e-mail. There is no direct database access to the key database stored at e5/DR, because e5/DR sells the keys under their own name.
If the customer is not found in the e5/DR database, then the colleagues over at Elby only write back "not found". And that's it. Literally.

Elby appears to have stopped selling CloneDVD licenses like we do at SlySoft which means that they are concentrating on selling the boxed (CD) version of CloneDVD only.

Slysoft will continue to sell CloneDVD2 like its other products through the web-shop with down-loadable executable and the key.clonedvd file for registering.

Today's tip: If you purchased CloneDVD through Element5 and/or Elaborate Bytes it is a good plan NOW to double check that you have the license key saved OFF the PC to a safe place. We can not recover a license external to our database and it appears that Elby is also unable to follow up on license keys through Element5 either.
