Question: Is the AnyDVD program able to disable DVD region codes? For example, I've been trying to locate a particular DVD, but the only ones available are region coded for regions 2 and 4.

Could the AnyDVD program change the code to my region (1) so I could view it on my dvr? And if not, is there another method to change the code or bypass it so that I could view the DVD?

Thanks for your advice!

AnyDVD will allow you to play/stream that on your PC as it removes the format and/or region limitations. :D

Assuming you are in an NTSC country then you would need a new DVR that allows PAL/NTSC playing (like in most of Europe) or you can use CloneDVD mobile with AnyDVD to create a DIVX file, burn that to a DVD and then play it.
Most modern DVRs (even in the US) will allow that.. :o

Frank, the DVD that I'm considering is not only region 2, but it is also a PAL, but I believe my dvr is NTSC, since my region is 1(US).

Would AnyDVD allow me to watch that PAL DVD on my NTSC machine, or would I have to obtain a PAL dvr?

Thanks again for your reply!

Isn't that what I said?

Read: AnyDVD will make the DVD essentially region-free and format-neutral on your PC.

It's when you'll want to make a copy of that you'll need to overcome the limitation on your US NTSC-only DVR.

So, again:
Play on PC? No problem with AnyDVD.
Play in your living room? Make DIVX with AnyDVD/CloneDVD mobile.
