There seems to be a new form of protection on some new DVD's that AnyDvd can't break...is Slysoft working on it?

"Open Season" is one of them

My copy of Open Season would not "clone dvd", but I was able to "copy dvd titles". This doesn't give you the trailers, and special features, but it will give you the movie. It is probably one of the 'special' features that is on the dvd.

Are you copying and burning it using Clone DVD2?

I also had trouble with Saw3. With AnyDVD running, DVD Shrink would not analyze the disk and DVD Decrypter stopped after approximately 10%. Perhaps trouble with VTS_07.vob file?

Had The Same Problem With Saw3. Kept Locking In A Loop And Could Not Make A Backup Of It. Finally Used Clone Dvd2 And Selected Only The Movie Discarding All The False Media On The Disc. I Always Copy To My Hard Drive To Save On Media Disc's. Than I Use Nero 6 Recode 2 To Backup The Movie. Reason For This Is All Dvd Players Will Not Play Movies Made With 1 Click Dvd Copy Or 1 Click Dvd Copy Pro. This Has Worked Out Just Fine For Me. There Are Times When You Have To Try Different Things. Be Willing To Experiment.

I copied this title with various backup programs, but until the recent update I wasn't able to use clonedvd2.
Saw 3 is what I'm referring too.

Occasionally I had problems copying some movies that was until I Tuned up my PC I got rid of all the problems in the registry and loose bits of data floting around especially in the temp folders (This does interfere with accurate data processing) for the novice user I suggest purchasing an inexpensive program from SummitSoft Corporation called System Tech XP for around $30 US www.SummitsoftCorp.com It can clean up your PC and excellerate online browsing and is very user friendly.
I also had burning problems which added to freezing and repeating scenes. To alleviate these poblems I bought a new external drive (Sony DRX820U +/-16X Dual Layer) Around $100 which solved all my problems
Iv'e had tis drive for 6 months and it has performed flawlessly the only problems in burning is the occasional bad media which cannot be anticipated.
I was so impressed with the Sony drive I do not use either IDEE drives I bought for my PC The Sony is so much faster via the USB

Thanx Brickman.....tried your idea on Open Season.....worked great....also....another suggestion ...when I burn with Clone DVD2...after the first copy is done....I insert another one....and you can make another copy without going thru the whole process again....just click the "write" button again.

AnyDVD has not quite yet caught up to SAW3 , which uses a new protection scheme that seems to be designed to thwart some older rippers.
Give them a few days to look it over and fix it.

Saw 3 R1 with Anydvd 6.1.1.4 + Clonedvd2 = no problem
Saw 3 R1 with Anydvd 6.1.1.4 + Clonecd = no problem
Saw 3 R1 with Anydvd 6.1.1.4 + Nero Recode = no problem
Saw 3 R1 with Anydvd 6.1.1.4 + Shrink = problem (to the best of my knowledge)

Correct.... SAW3 added a NEW PROTECTION designed to thwart the rippers. So far AnyDVD 6.1.1.4 only caught it up to the newer rippers. It is still *copy protected* on the older rippers.

Not to get into a debate of semantics but yes, AnyDVD has caught up to the new protection. If AnyDVD does its job with the newer rippers then it has caught up to Saw III. It's great that Slysoft works to make AnyDVD work as flawlessly as possible with program other than CloneCD and CloneDVD but if older programs fail I, personally, don't see that as a fault of AnyDVD.
Anyway, just my personal opinion.
Note: The reason I even posted this was because once you hear a program X still hasn't updated to handle protection Y the entire issue can be completely misunderstood by people who only hear/read that one statement.

I find it funny when people complain about AnyDVD not working with Shrink anymore. It's not SlySoft's fault that they don't update it. Oh well, huh?

I think it could be semantics.. :D
All I was trying to say is that so long a new DVD format does not come out, (like HD-DVD) then I believe that AnyDVD will continue to work with Shrink. Yes, Shrink is old an unsupported, but it only NEEDS support in the AREA of *copy protection*. (which is what AnyDVD does) So long as newer titles are properly stripped of newer *copy-protection* then any old ripper has to work by the very definition of "ripper" and "copy protection".
To say that AnyDVD will ONLY work with other Slysoft products in the future, is almost accusing Slysoft of coming up with a deliberate scheme of putting 1/2 the anti-protection tech into AnyDVD and then the other 1/2 into CloneDVD - in order to force a user to buy BOTH of them to be able to rip a DVD. I've been a Slysoft customer long enough to believe they would not operate like this.

To say this isn't a good thing. antivirus doesn't work together. It's not slysofts responsibility to make it compatible with all apps they choose so. shrink will not do BD or HDDVD so this is just out of the question. Although I do like it right now how it can be used on all apps but it isn't their responsibility to do so it is just being good to all. CSS is way different than DRM and stuff that is being put onto the new gen DVD's so if they do or not it's their call.
Just my opinion.

Hello all,
I have anydvd6.1.1.4 and clonedvd2 and also dvd shrink 3.2
I have had lots of problems with this movie
Before the update to any DVD I was able to read the movie with clonedvd2
but was unable to write because it was to large for the disk (that was just doing the main movie) it came up saying it was trying to fix structure and then failed to do that. DVD shrink wouldn’t even read it would say it encountered an error and can not continue Failed to read file *e:\*
After my son buying another copy of saw3 unrated (not sure if there is another saw3 that isn’t unrated) thinking maybe my copy was scratched or other wise screwed up somewhere. I updated my any DVD (which I want to say thanks to you guys there at sly soft for sending me Email letting me know that there is an update)and made sure my clone DVD was up to date, which it is and has been since I purchased it. We tried to do the new copy of saw3 and it would read it and clonedvd2 would tell me that the data was too large for the disk Ok... go out and buy dual layer DVD’s (Not cheap) brought them home and clone DVD would write it like crazy to the new 8.5 gb disk Only at the 13th scene it wont go any farther then when he finds the tricycle in the hall
Oh and DVD shrink still won’t read it not that it is important any ideas I would like to hear about them:agree: Thinking about buying another copy of saw3 just to leave as a backup. :(

In the quality box in Clonedvd2, ensure you select "dvd-5" when using single layer blanks.
Please visit http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=476 for info on how to burn with Clonedvd2.

I had problems with Saw 3 using AnyDVD 6.1.0.7 but when I upgraded to 6.1.1.4 I was able to copy with Nero with no issues.
