View Full Version : Unable to write "The Illusionist"

6th February 2007, 00:06
I just recently tried to burn the Illusionist and the copying went just as normal (compressed 36%) but then when it went to write to disk the disk kicked out and an error came up asking to insert media with enough storage capacity for the file - it said I needed 4.42 mb and the disk I was using was 4.7mb - I switched disks a few then switched brands - still didn't work - any suggestions? My firmware is up to date - I am using a Plextor 740a DvdR - I am certain there is nothing wrong with the blank media I am using. The software I use in conjuction with Anydvd is Click 1 - it has always worked well - even thru all the other movies other people have trouble with. Please help - I really want this movie

Open 1Click and press your F8-key then copy and paste the log for it. Look for where the logs starts and ends. Blank media may say 4.7gb but actualy recording space available is 4.3gb.
****session closed****
everything in between these two lines will be one log.

Post your log for that movie and it will give a better idea as to what your problem is and will answer a bunch of questions in one shot. I have that movie and had no problems backing it up.

well the best way if you use 1click is to rip it to the harddrive then re-rip it. Or you could use shrink but clonedvd is recommended. 1click has done this to me many times in the past.

I`m not saying its an AnyDvd issue, it could be a number of other things like not an upto date version of 1Click. The reason I asked for a log is that it provide alot of info at one time, such as what version of 1Click the person is using, what version of AnyDvd their using etc...

I`m not saying its an AnyDvd issue
I wasn't responding to you. If you refer to my post, I'm responding to the OP, who created two threads about the exact same subject in the Anydvd forum, when this issue has nothing to do with Anydvd. I have merged them into one thread--here.
And I also appreciate from reading numerous posts on several forums that 1-Click and Anydvd (if they are the latest versions) have no problems with this title. But the OP's problem is solved with 1-Click--and not Anydvd. That is all I meant. My apologies if I offended anyone. And you have my sincere gratitude for attempting to helping out the OP. Thank you.

OK, I thought you were using a more current version for the log, try pressing your F7-key with 1click open, I havent used that version in quite a while. By the way i noticed that your Plextor 740A is really behind on firmware updates, the current firmware version for your Plextor 740A is 1.11 and yours is 1.01, give me a minute or two to check on something here.

The last version 4 was version 4.2.9.13 which I can email to you if you want to try that with AnyDvd, there are still some users who use that with AnyDvd. If you want to upgrade to the latest version 5 and you purchased 1Click over a year ago then it would cost you $19.00.

Email sent. If you have the seperate vserion of CopyToDvd installed you may want to uninstall it. I just reinstalled that version and am going to check out a few things that i may have forgotten that may be of more help to you, will be back in a minute or so.

OK, right down your registration number first if you havent saved it somewhere else also a few other things that you may want to write down for reference is your F3-key will turn on or off CPRX, with AnyDvd I would turn it off, F7-key to open your 1Click log, F8-key to open your CopyToDvd burn log, F9-key to open your CopyToDvd properties and F2-key to open the registration window.

I have installed the update - I am trying to burn it now - I didn't turn off CPRX but will if it doesn't work -
Is there a faster way to burn dvd's that pushing start on 1click and letting it do it's thing for 25 minutes? I thought I had read you can copy a file to the desktop - honestly I need baby steps thru that but would love to do this faster if it doesn't compromise quality

Ok, but after this burn I would turn it off, it was designed to work with Dvd43(sucks!), with AnyDvd you dont need it and it can cause a problem with some movies. A couple of other things I would do is for burning speed I would burn at half your medias rated burn speed, for example if using 16X media I would burn at 8X and if using 8X media I would burn at 4X. The one thing I like about the newer version 5 of 1click is that everything is now consilidated into the 1Click program, no need to open up the CopyToDvd properties to make changes, you just right click on the 1Click screen.
