Forgive me, as I've done multiple searches and attempted to try the suggestions given.

I have a new Dell Studio XPS 1645 w/ the i7-820QM processor (quad-core), and 6 gigs of RAM. The drive is a BD-RE UJ-235-A, which has a DVD-ROM read speed of 8x (see here: http://www.panasonic.com/industrial/...ls/UJ-235A.asp). I'm only managing encoding speeds of 2.2x to 2.4x range on DVD Shrink, and on CloneDVD2 it's taking nearly 90 minutes just on the "Creating DVD files...". Like I said, I've tried all the suggestions concerning such from this forum. I'm not sure what else to try. FYI, this computer does not have any Primary or Secondary IDE controllers listed in the Device Manager. I assume this is because the "Intel Matrix Storage Console" is controlling such.

Is it possible this BD drive has Riplock (see here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Riplock)? I can't find anything concerning such about it, however.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I just purchased the TMT Platinum + product. I loaded it on my wife's computer, which is also the HTPC. Much to my surprise there was no video on the extended desktop, only on the primary monitor. I called Arcsoft and found out that TMT does not support a second monitor. What the heck is this? I assumed that everyone uses a second monitor for their HTPC. What software is everyone using to play blu-rays on their HTPC with a second monitor?

BTW, my old PowerDVD 7.3 works fine on my second monitor but I have heard so much griping about v9 that I decided to try something different. I would like to have it integrated with VMC but that is not an absolute deal breaker.

My known options are
TMT
WinDVD
PowerDVD
Is there another player that is better?

Thanks

Steven

Hello! Looking for the latest firmware and a driver for a Plextor PX 870A drive. Had a Lite-On LH-16W1P, but it started acting up, so I went with the new one. Although the drives shows up in Device Manager and also in AnyDVD, attempting to install the included software utilities returns the error 'No Plextor drive detected!'. I have watched a DVD and ripped it to the harddrive successfully. Haven't actually tried to burn a backup as of yet. Can't understand why the drive shows up fine, seems to work ok, yet is 'invisible' to the included software. I was hoping to manually install the driver and then I could be sure it's the proper one. The driver being used now is from an installation of Roxio plus a couple of updates. All are older then the drive, (I believe). I should mention I'm still running Win98 SE, and have been for years and with great success backing up DVDs. Slysoft has some pretty terrific products! Anyway, if anyone can help locate these items, I'd be grateful. I don't have much luck finding things on the web, and my eyes are bad making it even tougher. Many thanks for any help.

Anywho, neddless to say I am using Nero to burn with at a speed of 8 (it worked in my trial version of CloneDVD which has expired) but it appears that the burn process failed here:
I have attached the log file as well. CloneDVD worked so well but I cannot shell out the funds for the full version right now so let me know if Nero is the problem or not. Thanks.
