Hello,
For a while now I have had problems with GameJackal working with all the profiles I have created (around 24 - they all used to work). At first about half of them stopping working as all they do is ask me to insert the CD. So I started updating GameJackal with the beta/rc etc hopign hatwould fix the problem. I have been updating GameJackal with each new beta/rc release for some time now but that does not seems to fix the problem. The profiles run but I am always prompted for the CD. I never report my issues as I saw that other where having similar issues and I need to rebuild the PC OS to fix some other issues I was having (VSS developed issues after I removed an Acronis True Image). I have just finished rebuilding the PC with Vista 64bit (the PC was running Windows XP x86) and after installing the latest GameJackal and copying all my profiles back into the correct location, none of them work?!? So not sure what to do now but here is the infor for one of my profiles that does not work - Age of Empires III Asian Dynasties - it used to work just fine. 1. What version of Game Jackal are you running? GameJackal version 3.1.0.5 RC 1 2. What Operating system are you using? 64 bit? service pack? Windows Vista Business 64bit edition 3. If you have virtual drives, disable them while profiling and playing profiles. This includes Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, Virtual Clonedrive, Clonecdtray, VSO's EZ Play (comes with Blindwrite), and possibly Anydvd. These are programs that are typically blacklisted by copy protections. I have none installed. 4. Remove packet writing software from your system (including Roxio's Directcd, Nero's Incd, Roxio/Sonic's DragtoDisc, Drive Letter Access, CyberLink InstantBurn, NTI's Filecd, etc.) I have none installed. 5. What protection does your game use? Don't know? Find out before posting about issues (and include that information)! Use Protection ID. It's a free program. Use ProtectionID and scan your HD directory where the game is installed (right click the icon on your toolbar, and select "scan files/folders"). Or just scan the main program .exe(s) that you find in the game directory on your hard drive. Provide the protection name and the version number. Accroding to Protection ID it is SmartE copy protection. 6. What is the name of the game you're trying to run? Age of Empires III - Asian Dynasties 7. What is the version of the game? Version is 1.0.1a 8. Is it cd or dvd version? CD 9. What region or country is the original disc from? USA 10. What cpu are you running? Intell Core Quad core Q6600 11. What optical drives (dvd-rom,cd-rom, burners) are you using to create profiles with? What firmware version is installed on your reader? LG DVD GSA-H62L firmware DL00 12. What security software (firewall, antivirus) are you using? Please provide version numbers. Nod32 version 3.0.667 13. Describe your problem, provide full error messages, and please state clearly what you were doing when you received those error messages. Profile runs but I am always ask for the CD which is odd as GameJackal display a message when the run starts stating that the CD/DVD drive will not be available while the profile is running. However, if I put the CD in and run the profile again, it works no problem. 14. Attached the summary log file. 15. Download ImgBurn - Go to Tools - Filter Driver Load Order =============================================== Filter Driver Load Order - ImgBurn v2.4.2.0 =============================================== Upper Device Filter: [None Found] Upper Class Filter: maplom Device: CD/DVD-ROM Device Lower Class Filter: maploml Lower Device Filter: [None Found] Filter Name: maplom File Name: File Version: File Description: Product Name: Product Version: Company Name: Copyright: Filter Name: maploml File Name: File Version: File Description: Product Name: Product Version: Company Name: Copyright: I have made an image of the PC before I installed GameJackal so I can restore/test stuff and return it back to a per GameJackal state any time. Have you tried updating your profile?

The bottom line here is that profiles created in x86 will not work on in x64 (and vice-versa).
Do new profiles work?

Hello,
Thanks for replying, I did not know that there was a difference in profiles created on a x86 vs x64 base PC. I have recreated the profile but I still have the problem, the game still ask for the CD? Any ideas? Thanks for your help, Dyslextic |

A new Game Jackal beta will be coming out shortly according to matthew. You can check to see if that will help you, but I suspect there's something else that's amiss. Perhaps matthew will also comment on whether he feels changing "multiprocessor options" in Game Jackal might help your situation.

Hello,
Ok, so I download the GameJackel beta version 3.116 and did the standard routine I have now for GameJackel. I uninstall the old and rebooted. I then install the new beta and rebooted. I then created a new profile with advance logging check. After playing the game for around 30 minutes, I exit the game. GameJackel took about 2 seconds to created a profile. When I run the GameJackel profile, it fails!!!! Just like all the other times, over and over this thing fails. The game keeps asking to insert the CD. I have once more attached the summary log and a screen shot of the sectors tab on the performance and reliability wizard for all the good it will do. Sorry if I seems a little frustrated but for several months now I have been trying to get the program to work and no luck! Help me please!!!!!!!!!!!! --> my head hurt~Thanks Dyslextic |

Hello,
NEWS flash ... I got the profile to work for Age of Empires III - The Asian Dynasties. How I do it, I plugged in my external USB DVD-RW drive and had GameJackel created the profile form that. IT work!!!! Wow... this is unbelievable I have a working GameJackel again - at least for the moment. This still make me believe that there is a bug of some sort in GameJackel as it will not created a profile from my internal DVD burner. I wonder if it has to do with the drive letters. My external drive letter came up as "F" and the internal drive letter is "D". Plus I have a 2nd hard disk drive that is drive "E". Maybe some how GameJackel is getting the drive letters confused or it wants the DVD drive letter to be after all hard disk drive letters? Yap, that really is odd but I have at least made a profile that works and I have tested it once. I going to play around some more before I deiced if all it 100% but for the moment it seems to be work! ![]() Oh, the other thing that is wired is the secotrs capture of the work profile looks nothing like the ones I have posted here. It very odd, like GameJackel could not read the DVD drive correctly? Would the developer like any more debug/information/screen shot of this odd problem? No more my head again the wall I hope ![]() ~Thanks Dyslextic |

We will keep working on GJ... so if you could test new versions with your internal drive that would be great.
FYI - There is no need to play the game when capturing, just starting the game and exiting is fine.
