Strange as it may seam, this is another Sony production that AnyDvd appears to have problem with. Back to using the old method because Clone just doesn't meet my expectation even though I recently purchased it.
It appears as if more and more of Sony Productions are out-smarting SlySoft. |

I am trying to use DVD-Shrink for the entire movie. AnyDVD specs indicate this is possible (and had bee the case until recently)
Specs Quoted from Product Page "Works with all DVD copying, such as CloneDVD, and all DVD player software" Guess it aint so - no more..... |

@ G-Omaha,
It would be helpful if you explained exactly what your problem is with AnyDVD and Stranger Than Fiction commercial DVD Movie Title. If in fact you believe that the Stranger Than Fiction commercial DVD Movie Title has a variant copy protection scheme that AnyDVD cannot handle suggest reviewing the AnyDVD Forum Sticky titled “Found a new protection AnyDVD can't handle? Send the .Ifo files to Slysoft!” and send the .IFO files to SlySoft so that they can analyze these files and if necessary release an update improvement to the AnyDVD software program. http://forum.slysoft.com/showthread.php?t=330 Regards, Coaster |

Since writing this a few moments ago, I see that another poster has already provided the "screen prints". I am a bit leery about sending files to somone that I don't really know that has my "fingerprints" all over it. It appears to be the same type of "thing" that SAW-III and others have in the last month or so.. Back to Ripit4me... I guess. |

The problem remains the same as it has since SAW-3.
As I understand it, from reading other boards and my own experience, Sony has introduced an overwhelming amount of unreferenced titles and/or bogus title sets to the DVDs, all in the name of COPY PROTECTION. Once AnyDVD has done what it deems to be "it's job"... this newer form of COPY PROTECTION remains. The result is that Shrink still horks up a lung when it sees these new DVD's, and Nero Recode *almost* fails with them as well. In the mean time DVDFab (the free version) takes about 45 seconds to sort it all out, and present a breakdown of the "real" DVD to the end-user to rip as he sees fit, and this MINUS all the bogus titles. <sigh> I remain hopefull that AnyDVD will soon sort this out. The more cynical amongst us, are *sure* this won't be sorted out until the targeted amounts of CloneDVD2 are sold. <sigh> -W Last edited by Clams; 28th February 2007 at 01:50. |

I backed up Stranger Than Fiction and Saw3 easily using Shrink 3.2. Just by following the instructions in the sticky. Right click ANYDVD icon and select rip video to harddisk.

Did you do this for the entire disk or just the main movie??

But it still doesn't do a good of a job as CloneDVD2.
