Default SPDIF bandwidth question. Can it support DTS 5.1

I am trying to configure a X FI titanium. I get 5.1 but the rear surrond come out of the front speaker and the only that I can change is no rear sound whatsoever

yes spdif can support dts 5.1. Spdif was my method of choice for connecting my old dvd player to my amp and I got dts and DD over spdif with no issues. It looks like something else is misconfigured somewhere.

Default Quasi Resolved

It turned out to wired incorrectly at the amp/rec but unable to get sound from powerdvd. But at the same thing I have not begun troubleshooting that issue.
