Default Virtual CloneDrive interferes with PowerDVD?

I recently downloaded and installed Virtual CloneDrive 5.4.3.2 and mounted an iso file to be played in PDVD. It was successful. Subsequently, however, I tried to play a blu-ray disc in my laptop and received the following message...

I then uninstalled Virtual CloneDrive, rebooted and tried again...same message!

Tried another few times and found that the problem seems to be with only one blu-ray disc (Spiderman 3...main movie). I was able to successfully play other blu-ray discs (Galapagos, Devil Wears Prada, special features disc of Spiderman 3).

False alarm here...I guess I just won't be able to watch Spiderman 3 with PowerDVD!

Is this a protected or unprotected ISO. If it's unprotected then you're out of luck. If it's a protected ISO or original disc then tick the 'PowerDVD 'Virtual drive detected' workaround' option in AnyDVD and see if that works

Update to the latest version of AnyDVD HD available which would be v6.5.5.9 for trial users and v6.5.6.2 beta for registered users.

When you encounter the problem you described go into the AnyDVD HD settings:
  1. Right-click on the fox icon in the systray
  2. Click on Settings...
  3. Highlight Video BluRay
  4. Check the box for the option named PowerDVD "virtual device detected" workaround.
  5. Click OK

Now try again. This workaround is only necessary with certain movies even when attempting to play the actual BD from the BD drive. Live Free or Die Hard is an example of one such movie.
