DVD Duplicator

Does anyone own or know anything about a DVD Duplicator? I see them on the web all the time but I do not understand how they work. Why does it require a Hard Drive, Firewire or USB cables. Are they worth the money, my wife makes slides shows and we have make about 10 copies of each time. Also is a Pioneer a good brand?

Any help would be appreciated.

I bought one from www.diskdepot.co.uk you don't need a hard drive in them. Basically you put your master in the top, blank in the bottom and press go. Dead easy to use and totally standalone from your pc
