You guys keep repeating yourself and not answering the question. What is MEncoder during the transcode to the PS3 that the PS3 isn't doing itself or any other player I'm using. He got attitude because he was condescding when he had no right to be. The FAQ did not apply and still doesn't. If you would like to point out how it answers the above question I would be happy to retract but so far no one has.

I don't think anyone here is going to have the answer to this question. I will probably have to track this down myself. I have a sneaky suspicion that MEncoder is doing what TSMuxer does but only doing it live while streaming.

I was not being condescending, just because you didn't get a full answer doesn't give you the right to be rude and abusive

Step back and think for a second. The PS3 can not decode the english audio directly from the m2ts so you get something else, same as with most apps. Mencoder gets you the english audio so it apparently can read the audio format which it then translates to another format that the PS3 can use and feeds it to the PS3. We did not list it out like this because it seems elementary based on the information given. So unless I misunderstood the question this plus the previous info should fill it all in.

Yes, that seems to be the conclusion I've come to above.

That's ashame too, I was kinda hoping that wouldn't be the answer. I was hoping someone here would say nope, it's doing this, or its doing that or it's a CODEC issue. I was really hoping for the CODEC issue. I know the track is in that file and it was odd that MEncoder could produce something that the PS3 could play from when nothing else could. That's a bummer.

I think I may owe Adbear an apology and I wanted to do it in this thread rather than PM as I may have seriously misjudged his actions. I never considered the fact that he may have genuinely been offering the FAQ as a possible solution to my problem and not offering it cause he was accusing me of not reading it. The answer is not in the FAQ and having looked all over for the answer for 2 days prior to breaking down and posting in here, it was percieved as condecending. Most people are loathed to posting in here and waiting hours for a response. I would rather do the search, read the post and find the answer myself. But after two days I couldn't find it addressed in here.

So, Adbear, if you were not suggesting that I hadn't read the FAQ and that the answer might be in there then I appologize. No one that is trying to offer GENUINE help deserves to be yelled at. If however you were taking a READ THE FAQ before you post condescending attitude then my severe tounge lashing stands. For future reference, be careful with the suggestion to read the FAQ. Most of us have, and have used the search function, and have googled and looked at other forums. You might have thought it was overlooked but most of us already have read the FAQ and done a heck of a lot of searching prior to breaking down and writing a thread and waiting hours to get a response.
