Hi,
I've had a little search but couldn't find anything helpful. I've bee nusing anyDVD for a year, but have just purchased an LG CH08LS10.AUAR and anyDVD HD, the BD rom is an 8x drive. I'm currently backing up Tropic Thunder and used rip video DVD to harddisk, taking it to a SATA drive. I'm only getting a rip speed of 16-18MBps which is 4x. I'm a little confused why the drive isn't spinning up to full speed? It wants to take around 50 minutes to do this dual layer disc when I thought it should be 30 max. Any clues? I seem to have the latest FW on the drive as it's brand new and i'm running anyDVD HD 6.5.7.1 |

1. If you have Daemon Tools or Alcohol 120% installed, uninstall it. Or more importantly, uninstall SPTD, which is the culprit for slow rips:
a) click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...39&postcount=5 b) click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...9&postcount=30 2. Upload Anydvd .zip log file

Thanks for the quick response.
I don't have daemon tools just slysoft clonedrive. Also I don't have SPTD installed according to it's exe, it offers no uninstall. I can't seem to find a log file anywhere for anydvd? |

Update to AnyDVD HD 6.5.7.3 beta: http://sandbox.slysoft.com/beta/SetupAnyDVD6573.exe
From your logs: Quote:
Remove the filter:
Whatever programs installed the filters may no longer work properly. Reinstall the piece of software that originally installed the filter to get things working again if necessary. After rebooting create and post a new set of log files. Other than this filter I don't see anything else standing out in the logs.

Clicking remove filter doesn't seem to do anything?
It tells me the program may stop working and am I sure I wish to remove it, I click ok rather than cancel but the filter is still there? also it's from cyberlink which is powerDVD and the extras that came with the drive. When I first installed the drive I ran anyDVD before installing any of the extras and it was running slowly, I then installed the extras (which had the cyberlink stuff) and it was still running slowly... So I think it was running at 4x before the CLB filter was installed. Thanks for the help. |

Other than seeing if updated chipset drivers are available for your motherboard, I don't have any other suggestions.
You can try using imgburn to rip instead. Sometimes drivers and other installed programs play a contributing factor with rips speeds obtained (depending on the program used to rip). It doesn't really matter what you use to rip--so long as the disc rips fine. Quote:

16.5 MB/s isn't exactly bad. The people reporting major issues usually have like 5 MB/s. Not all discs will be ripped at the same speed and the speed may go up and down during the ripping process. Speed tends to also go on a disc by disc basis. Some discs rip far faster on my BD drive than others.
