Default Evaluation version's expiry after two days

Two days ago, I downloaded a trial version of AnyDVD. This morning, because of an unrelated OS problem, my computer would not boot.

My Tech Support had me do a cold reboot by taking out the power cable and keeping the on/off switch of the computer pressed down for 15 seconds. (In the last one year, I had to do this once before.) This drained out all power from the motherboard and reset the system clock.

Obviously, by AnyDVD is reporting that the trial period has expired. I am very dejected and am not hopeful that there is any recourse now (short of buying the software without having the opportunity to test it out).

But, I thought it would not hurt to ask. Please let me know if you have a thought about this matter.

Thanks.

Turning power off and unplugging does not cause Anydvd trial periods to expire.

I am doubtful that this will help, but you can try installing Anydvd again: click http://forum.slysoft.com/showpost.ph...29&postcount=1

If that doesn't work, then you will need to buy the program if you wish to use Anydvd.

Thank you for the response. It was not the turning of per se. It was the fact that my computer's Tech Support had me unplug the pwer cord and hold down the on/off button for 20 seconds. That drains the motherboard of all power, and RESETS the system clock.

Weird. I guess they reset your bios. That typically can't occur unless your motherboard's battery is dead as well.

Anyway, yeah, there's nothing you can do at this point other than buying the product.

Well, it did occur. This time, and once before, a few months ago, when the Tech Support had me do the same thing.

But, I guess it doesn't matter since there isn't a solution to my actual issue. Thanks, anyway.

The products react that way if some unknown/non-realistic values appear in the system clock and resetting the BIOS like that can put some very weird values for MM-DD-YYYY and time in that area. The "immediate trial end" event is unavoidable under these circumstances.

Anyway, with so many hundreds of thousands of users I offer you can purchase AnyDVD with full confidence.
