Sorry for hijacking this thread but since it's rip to HHD thread thought I add a question for some help.
I wish to rip SD-DVD and stream via my network media player. When I rip to hard drive, can I rip only movie and audio track with no video compression whatsoever? I'd like the ripped movie same quality as the dvd. Many Thanks |

Simply select the main movie title and leave everything else out of the backup and rip to your HDD with the setting in CloneDVD set to DVD+/-R DL. The rip will be the same quality as the original.

Thanks. The Output method comes after the selection section which I think the software already compresses automatically? Is DVD+/-R DL, dual level so the video is same quality as the original? I have a HD Plasma and I'd need original quality, thanks Any online or user manual I could read? The online tutorial is quite unclear. Do I use the Copy DVD Title Option or the Clone DVD option? Click the "Help" button in Clonedvd.

Either one works. By default Copy DVD Titles selects the longest title and doesn't include menus. It's true purpose is to create movie-only backups. I, personally, always use Clone DVD and manually deselect the unwanted material. Either method can arrive at the same results but you just approach the matter from a different direction. It should be noted that when making a movie-only backup using Copy DVD Titles that people need to check to see which title actually plays when the movie is watched with a standalone DVD player or software player because sometimes the longest title is not the movie title.

So I select DVD+/-R DL in the Quality drop down list then at the Output section choose 'DVD Files', correct? Rgds |
