been reading up on this cinavia on here and i must admit its smart!
only just had the problem with playing back a brrip (my own backup) of the other guys and got the message after 20 mins or so. this was on the ps3. if the file is stopped and restarted the message reappears after about 20 seconds. ive noticed that if i stop the file for about 10 mins or so and play i get about another 15 mins of play before the message pops up again. is the cinavia time encoded some how because it seems random. i have noticed it is not implemented if the movie is played back at 1.5x speed so does that mean it is somehow pitch related or speed related. just my findings so far i will continue messing around with this. hello to all on here this is my first post. |

just had to update some new details.
been messing around with the ps3 and cinavia protected file and have worked out that when you play the file you get about 20 mins watch then the cinivia banner kicks in and mutes audio. i have found that when this happens exit file go to time settings in the ps3 options change time zone to any other and change the date to a different date (say 2042) then go back to the video file and it plays perfect for another 20 mins or so!!!!!!!! hope this is of help to people. |

Thats standard for cinavia. It takes 20 minutes for an accurate detection. Nothing unusual about that.

if the file is stopped and replayed the cinavia block comes back on straight away
but if the date and time is changed then you get to play the file without it being blocked somehow changing the time and date gives you back your grace period......could this be a work around that could be added to the file somehow. |

Just curious to know if by not removing the protection, will the BDs backed up 1:1 play all the way through?

How would that work? You can't DO anything with a protected image. When you mount it, you MUST have AnyDVD enabled to remove the protection else the image can't be used as it's still protected. So no, a protected image doesn't help you at all.

My thought was that right clicking on the tray icon and ripping it to disk.image. and select the 'keep protection (blu-ray)' checked?
