Cinavia warning

AnyDVD needs to add a pop-up warning the disk has Cinavia so you don't make a useless back-up....Just a thought

It's not something that AnyDVD can detect upon scanning the disc. Which so far as I can tell, really only leaves the option of manually maintaining a list that comes with the AnyDVD installer. Personally, I am not in favor of this.

This is nothing that is affecting AnyDVD's mission.

This protection affects backups you make for playing on a very small number of newly released player hardware boxes at the moment like PS3.

There is no point in listing "found" cinavia as it does not affect the greater majority of players.

As Frank said. It only affects players that are compatible(that detects) the cinavia protectio, like the PS3. If you copy a dvd with cinavia then dont use the PS3 to watch it

It can be done. Other Software already implemented detection of Cinavia.

If it's the one I'm thinking of, I thought the disc was checked (via internet connection) against a (currently small) database of titles containing Cinavia.
I'm not sure the software itself detects Cinavia in the audio.

No, the other software just has a list of Cinavia discs and checks against that, it doesn't have any fancy detection other than that, so if you get a new title and it's not on their list then it won't detect it

Probably checks the volume label is my guess. If they could detect it in the audio stream they should be able to remove it, right?

Conversely... there is no good reason in the world not to report it - in the interest of information being a good thing.
