2 machines (Acer REVO with W7 Home Premium, i7 with W7 Ultimate) same mapped network drive (Seagate GoFlex), both have MPC-HC set to autoplay and VCD set to automount (on double click). The Acer: double click ISO from local disk or network, movie starts in a couple seconds. i7, double click from one of the local disks pretty much instant start, from network disk no (or extremely long, several minutes) start time. The mounted ISO does appear in Windows Explorer as a normal DVD (all the right files in the TS folder) but MPC-HC just hangs on 'Play'. So, how do I fix that? I can drag the ISO from the network drive to the desktop and it will copy it there at about 38 Mbps, and once on the local disk the ISO mounts and plays fine.

Fixed. It was a problem with MSE. Numerous ways to solve it: Add ISO to non excluded filetypes or add the network drive to excluded locations or add MPC-HC to excluded processes. I chose the most restrictive version (added MPC-HC to the excluded processes).
Follow up: AVIDeMux choked too, so I added the NAS drives to the exclude list and all is good now. Last edited by olyteddy; 10th March 2012 at 14:21. |
