Default Update on Windowboxing issue.

Good suggestions everyone. I previously used IMG burn to compile an ISO from DVD folders ripped with AnyDVD. This time, (as suggested) I tried using AnyDVD in the background and letting IMG burn rip directly to ISO. Unfortunately, this still gives me a windowboxed rip. Any other suggestions?

As James suggested try using CloneDVD, the problem lies with the original discs so they probably need to be run through something like CloneDVD to force the flag on them

Default Gotta be the film's properties

Since you are the only one mentioning this I had my doubts about this being a problem with AnyDVD and since ImgBurn is what created the ISO I am even more sure now.

AnyDVD cannot touch anything in the container as it removes the protections and imgburn is what made the ISO.

This symptom is not really new but it's not an issue SlySoft can address in a product.

Default Update on Windowboxing issue.

Okay, here's the latest update:

I've tried IMG burn in the past. (I used Any DVD to burn DVD folders, then I used IMG burn to make an ISO from the DVD folders.) This still windowboxed the content.
As suggested, I tried to run Any DVD in the background and use IMG burn to directly make the ISO. This gave me windowboxed content too.

Latest: I downloaded an evaluation copy of CloneDVD and this also ends up giving me a windowboxed rip.

Any other suggestions?

This is not a ripping issue. This is just normal behavior for a non-anamorphic disc.

Here is a link and what you are experiencing is shown by the third example down on that page.

A full re-encode of the disc will have to be made to convert it to an anamorphic picture. James says CloneDVD will but I never used it. I've used DVD-Rebuilder in the past for this same issue.

That's what I tried to tell him - TWICE now.

I don't think James said that CloneDVD can convert non-anamorphic content to anamorphic.
And if it can - that's a new one on me.

I didn't know DVD Rebuilder could. But if you say it can, then perhaps he outta try that.

In DVD Rebuilder you need to goto AVS advance options and then there is a spot to check convert LB to 16:9
