Default Star Trek TNG Blu-Ray Season 1

Hello,

Today I purchased the first season of ST TNG, and downloaded the trial version of AnyDVD HD (7.0.5.0) and tried using it to decrypt the disc, so that I could splice out the individual episodes. So far, it isn't working as I get an "Error Processing Disc" message, and a "Trail versions are not allowed to connect to update server" message.

Is there a update available that has the latest decryption keys? I cannot use 7.0.5.1 since it is available only for users who have purchased anydvd HD.

There are only 2 options in your case, try an older disc that does not require anydvd to contact the key server or purchase anydvd hd at wich point the disc you are trying will get decrypted

Thank you Ch3vr0n. I've figured out a workaround in my instance; HD Decryptor to decrypt the discs from the TNG S1 Blu-Ray set. It's not the ideal workaround, but it works until Anydvd HD releases a trial version that contain the keys to decrypt this particular set.

Despite this, I'm considering purchasing AnyDVD HD in the near future as I like having AnyDVD HD running in the background to decrypt whatever disc I put in. This isn't so with HD decryptor.

Just a quick note: same problem here, so I just bought AnyDVD HD and now TNG S1 plays like a charm in VLC 2.

On a side note, I probably wouldn't have bought it right away if it weren't for a 20% discount that's granted until tomorrow. If, on the other hand, the trial had worked "out-of-the-box", I'd have bought it right away. Personally, I feel the server-limitation in the Trial version will keep potential customers away rather than attract them.

This is the first time we've released a beta with the "no trial" restriction in well over a year. There is a very good business reason why we do this so give us a break.

The trial is to test the functionality and that can be done with any disc not necessarily the latest or some exotic.

I'm sorry, I don't quite understand that point. I didn't download or install anything labeled "Beta". I just got 7.0.5.0 from the public download page.

Do you mean that the restriction "Trail versions are not allowed to connect to update server" was just introduced after it had not been in effect for over a year? I didn't know anything about that.

a) I also just gave you 52 Euros
b) I'm not saying SlySoft doesn't know how to run a business. I *am* saying I almost didn't buy because of that restriction.

I would have tested with another disc but had none available.

From your point of view, I shouldn't test the Trial with very new releases.
From my point of view, if the Trial doesn't work on the one release I actually want to run, why should I go on and purchase?

It was a leap of faith decision to buy and it worked, so I'm glad. That's also the reason I signed up here, to let the thread starter know it works.

Again, from my perspective it's bad that the Trial contains this restriction, but if it makes sense from a business perspective, by all means, keep it.
