Default Can you convert 4x3 titles to 16x9?

I'm copying a TV series that is 4x3 video. When I play it from the DVD, it stretches out out to fill my 16x9 TV. However, when I play the ripped copy, it is 4x3 with black bars.

Is there a way to play it (or record it) as 16x3? Normal movies are fine.

I'm using the latest version of SlySoft2 and AnyDVDHD.

I'm not sure why that would happen as CloneDVD2 does not alter the aspect ratio of a DVD it copies.

What is your playback device?

It is WD TV LivePlus. I'm my DVD player has "stretch" feature to expand 4:3 to 16:9, but WDTV does not. Are there any options available? I hate black bars.

You can do this with CloneDVDmobile. I do it often for the PS3. I'd bet your WD TV will play an mp4.

DVD Rebuilder has an option to do this.
