Default My Movies - For Windows Media Center

All right I just thought I'd throw this out to anyone who doesn't know about this program? It's fantastic, I wish I'd learned of it before now! For anyone, like me who's struggled to find a neat way to catagorize thier movie collection this program is too cool.

In a nutshell: The program takes all your BD and DVD's and throws the coverart up onto your screen so you get to point and click (or IR remote) through your collection. THEN, it drills into the title you select with tons of information about the movie INCLUDING trailers most of the time! It'll do lots more, I'm just now learning about everything

Anyway here's a link, check it out for yourself

I tried this a couple of different times. I have 2600+ dvds in another product that i would love to get away from (support sucks). But in trying MyMovies I kept trying to get the dvds imported but there were problems and the "support" there was not very helpful. Also, I really dislike the Windows Media Center UI .. all that clicking and beeping .. Oh my. And they have a POINT system. You get the product free but it and services are limited until you gain points by either a) contribute a lot of profiles or b) pay them money. I wish they would have been a little more up front to begin with. Just charge for the product. I don't mind paying .. just like to be told up front what the cost will be.

But that is just my impression. I have tried just about all of them (sw for cataloging dvds) that I can find. I guess I have to stay with what I have .. it might be buggy but to paraphrase "better the bugs you know.."

Have you tired Collectorz.com Movie Collector? They have good support and I have no complaints. At least you can check out the web site and try it out for FREE with a limited database. They have a big worldwide following and forums like SlySoft. Just try it out. Here's the link http://www.collectorz.com/movie/
