Great to see this new product. Have had Slysoft CloneDVD, AnyHD with lifetime keys for...well..a long time. Not sure why there is a need to compress to a 25GB disc when a 50GB disc is under $4 on e.... but I'm sure someone needs that app. Be nice to back up my BR 3D discs with all Slysoft products instead of ripping to hard drive with Any then burning with that un-named software. Eagerly awaiting Slyce.

$4 is rather expensive if you can get single layers for under $1, besides the bitrate used by is bigger then needed and details used in a blu-ray disc are better then the human eye is capable of seeing. When done right (with the proper tools) you can decrease the size of a blu-ray disc by more then half without even impacting the visual quality. You oughta take a look at BD-Rebuilder, the freeware alternative till Slyce comes out. That's exactly what it does.

A lot of my discs are 27 - 35GB. For me, it seems a waste to use a dual layer disc on a 27GB disc (plus, I am still learning the ways of BD rebuilder etc ). For me, this product, when released will be perfect for my requirements, just like Clonedvd.

So would it be too much to ask if Slyce comes packaged with Slyplayer?
That thread has not been updated since April.

It doesn't and it won't. Slyce is a shrinking and conversion tool. Slyplayer will be a media player to playback discs and files. 2 totally different applications.

As far as I recall, SlyPlayer would be free anyway. So there's no need of packaging.

Hi all yes I'm still alive

I am axiously awaiting the availablility of this product, but as they say all good things come to those who wait. I personally buy Verbatim BD-DL discs - not exactly cheap around around AU$53 for 5 - so I usually get 10 in total, but I prefer not having to compress data. http://www.ht.com.au/part/Y8633-Verb...dia/detail.hts

If that is your choice, all is fair but this is not a blank media discussion topic. Please stay on subject

Agreed. If I see any more of that I'll move it out of this thread.
