Default Failed track scanning, unable to rip some DVD tracks

This is my first post, though i have been a fan of Slysoft AnyDVD and CLoneDVD for quite a few years - more recently using CloneDVDmobile to rip my DVD's to a networked wireless HDD for playing on my Wifi DVD/TV setup.

In the last 6 months i have had an increased failure rate ripping some of my DVD's with some tracks being burnable, and others just "reading forever".

I have included the Logfile for the most recent disc i have had problems
with as an example. I was able to rip track 5, but not 4,6 or 7. (6 or 7 seem to be duplicate for some reason... what's that about?).

I'm afraid i'm a terrible noob with troubleshooting these things, and i'm sorry if the information is just waiting there in the threads to be found!

Any advice gladly accepted

Try exiting completely out of AnyDVD then setting the region for your drive in Windows, then restarting AnyDVD, not sure if it will help, but not having the region set can cause issues

I attempted to rip the 16:9 in 852*480, video quality 21 (2096 kbps), deinterlace 2 pass.

Hmm. Well it stuck at 14% on one of the "non-rippable" tracks (track 4) and gave this horrendous-looking debug info in the attachment.

I had a similar problem to what you describe a while back, I solved it by making an image of the disc using CloneDVD. I then mounted the image in VCD and was able to create the mobile file from the mounted image.

You say you have had increasing errors over a 6 month period, your drive might be slowly dying from the ongoing usage. Either try a different drive to read from if you have one or consider getting a replacement drive.

Actually "increasing" was perhaps misleading, more that i have been probably ripping more and getting more misses statistically. I have just fitted a new LG drive about 6 weeks ago and it is performing much better than my old one (i whacked the cup-holder while flailing about near the computer in a darkened room one bacchanalian evening!)

I have sometimes been able to make a copy with Clone DVD and rip from that but on several disks i have been unable to copy with clone DVD (failing at the same % spot through a track).

I had some success with Mediacoder and Handbrake on stubborn disks - but even they fail on these difficult disks. It's not even as if it is always the whole disk - yes i will get the one in a blue moon that just spins in the drive forever, however the current disk i posted about will play fine in TV DVD, and computer DVD drives, just 2 of the tracks cannot be ripped, failing after 14-20% or so. ugh.

I tried again using the 1.8.0.6 beta and actually got to 28% before it failed in a similar fashion - error log attached. It seems to mention a difference between frame rate and codec frame rate... could it be a codec issue? Shoot me if i'm being just too dumb
